MEET BRIGHT ARC

Bright Arc was born out of the pandemic in Richmond, VA, in 2020.  The songs were originally written by Dan Imbody during lockdown, but only as lo-fi sketches.  Bethany Lansing joined later that year, adding new harmonies and lead vocals.  Dan Bundy, a long-time friend and former bandmate of Imbody's, joined in 2021 remotely from Maine, writing and recording drums for the first album, Neverlasting Night.  Luke Rabin joined the band in 2021, initially to play drums for live show performances, but quickly began co-writing new songs from a structural and dynamics perspective.  Jake Sawyer, an accomplished solo folk musician himself, jumped on board to play bass, expanding his capabilities and exploring Bright Arc's genre (a mix of shoegaze, post-rock, emo, punk, and indie rock).  Both Dans in the band had been massive fans of Richmond's post-rock legends, Shy, Low, since 2015.  So it was an incredible honor to hand over the recording, mixing, and producing reigns for Neverlasting Night to Drew Storcks, the bassist for Shy, Low.  Drew demonstrated the fact that production quality in an album is just as important as the songs themselves.  His work elevated the songs to their absolute best.  Drew also directed and produced the band's first video for their single, Monomyth, released in May 2022.
